Hey Guys,
here is a link of what items im throwing in my system that will be for hardcore gaming. In the future i intend on sli'ing my gpu too.

https://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=shopping_cart

Case: Coolermaster HAF X
GPU: ASUS GTX 680 4gb version
RAM: gskill trident 16gb 2400
CPU: 3770k
Mobo: Asus Maximus V formula
PSU: Corsair AX860

Would appreciate thoughts on it, if it will all work and is compatible. I want it to be good enough to run everything full over the next few years so i thought this build should hopefully be good.

Any advice on it or help if it wont work or anything like that would be great.
Cheers

Alright, this is for gaming on a 1080p screen?

You're wasting a LOT of money.

1) The Haf X is $200, which gains you nothing that a good $100 case doesn't have.

2) a] For a 1080p screen, getting a 4GB card is POINTLESS. It gives absolutely ZERO benefit over a 2GB card.

2) b] The 680 is a bad pick - it's only 5% faster than a 670, but costs 25-30% more.

3) You don't need 16GB of ram. 8GB is enough to simultaneously run battlefield 3, Photoshop, AND 30 tabs in chrome.

4) The 3770k is a waste of another $100. The only difference between that and an i5-3570k is that the i7 has hyperthreading, which games don't use and very very likely won't in the future.

5) A $300 motherboard? Seriously? Unless you're going for a world record overclock (with no cooler :p ) it gets you NOTHING that can't be achieved by a decent $150 motherboard. Even if you're overclocking, a good $150 mobo will get you to basically any target without sweat.

6) And to top it off, you have a $200 power supply...

Okay. So here's the deal. It looks like you don't know much about computers, and just went for the most expensive parts possible, presuming they would be the best. They are, in certain situations, but for gaming, more expensive does not mean better.

This build will perform EXACTLY the same as the build you've got there, and costs a FRACTION of the price, which you can put towards a custom liquid cooling setup if you want an insane overclock, or just pocket and spend on better things if you don't just want to throw money away:

Would the proposed system i suggest all function together though? This is all for dual montiors at 1080p. The ASrocks had a big problem with their motherboards though didnt they? Why do they have 4gb cards for the gtx's then if its not that useful? Also would it be useful to get the 4gb 670?

Dual monitors aren't that popular,if you want triple monitors,then SLI/Crossfire 2x670's/7970's.

Follow DarkSable's advice and save a LOT of cash with his build.

FYI,Asrock motherboards are one of the best these days, they beat ASUS when it comes to value.

Now,regarding your posted build:

CPU:Again?:pfff: An i5 3570k will more than satisfy your gaming needs.Hyperthreading does NOT provide any performance gains.

GPU:$1000 for a 2xGPUs ? :heink: Seriously,4GB of GPU RAM isn't required for gaming.2GB per card is more than enough.(Unless you want to run games at 4K2K resolution with the max settings devised by mankind :).)
RAM:16GB is too much.8GB is enough.

Mobo: Okay, but I think the place where you're getting your parts overprices them.Use Newegg from here on out.

HDD:I don't see one...unless I'm blind.

PSU:Good,but overpriced.

Case:Same issue as the CPU,too much for your needs. If you badly want a HAF case, try a HAFF 922.

But regarding your question about compatibility, yes, your build will work IF you add a HDD. ;)
But,seriously you don't need that amount of power especially for gaming(even at the max settings.)

Thanks for the response. I already have a few hard drives so theres no need to buy new ones. Yeah i will take all of this into consideration and realise that 8gb of vram between two cards will be overkill lol. I mate just asked about the Gigabyte G1- Sniper3 Motherboard and wanted to know that if he bought it, would he be able to run gkill trident 2x8gb at 2400 on it, cause it doesnt specifiy it but merely says 2600 oc, would u be able to look into it and tell me? Also im an aussie so its probably the best aus site i have found :s

Apparently, your mobo does support the above mentioned RAM:http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Memory/mb_memory_g1.sniper3.pdf

But seriously that mobo is overkill,it costs around $265 on newegg.

Also, memory speed does NOT make a difference.

If you want a fast memory kit, get a Corsair Vengeance 8GB kit.
