Buzzing sound appears for 1-2 seconds while playing games/listening to music or talking on skype.

Hello,
recently I got this annoying problem and I would really like if someone helps me with this.So every time i listen to music, talk on skype and play games sometimes the sound just crashes with buzzing sound for 1-2 seconds and then everything is normal.The screen does not freeze or anything only the sound crashes.I will give you my system specs if you can help me out i will be greatful.It is getting very annoying please help me.This buzzing sound is coming more often and more often.

I know it may sound stupid, but I receive similar symptoms to yours. It is when my phone receives a text message or phone call, the speakers buzz for a bit due to interference. It probably is not your issue. Just throwing in my 2 cents.

My Q6600 was doing this too, the sound driver only use one core and when that core is at 100% the sound crash then start to work again as the core is not at 100% anymore (the rest work as it uses all 4 cores so even if 1 is full there's 3 more...)

I've specified the core 4 (default is core 1 for anything so it's the most used) to the actual sound driver in task manager and that resolve the issue for me...

Can I ask you spawnkiller how do i change from Core 1 to Core 4 because im not really good with computers.

ctrl alt delete task manager, you go to your Sound drver process in the process tab, right click on it and set change CPU affinity to core 4 or 2-3-4 (it's set to 1 or all depending on your windows version)

PS: was using XP in that time so it was set to 1 by default but Windows 7 now default to all cores so just uncheck all and 1st one to see if that helps (and if you're using win 7)

I did that and when i installed it and it wanted a restart i restarted it and it got stuck at welcome screen.. I had to go in safe mode and delete it then could start it.If theres any other way please tell me
