IS there any other reason not to get it? I dont see how the backlight bleeding is a problem.

Hmmm...backlight bleeding...
Such failure is actually a production failure, you can get it also from any other manufacturers.
But...it is true...frequency on how often the backlight bleeding is found in monitors differs from manufacturer to manufacturer...
It is also true than ASUS does better quality control than ACER, meaning that backlight bleeding happens more often by ACER than ASUS, but that will not keep me completely away from ACER.
It is simply a matter of your luck.

So should I buy it? :??:

Well the edges of the screen will never be a dark black. If you watch a dark movie it will look very washed out along the edges. Completely up to you to buy one or not. I only use mine as a secondary display so it barely bothers me.

Backlight bleeding is that you see lights/brightness coming through certain parts of the screen during dark pictures.
No screen is really free from this issue, but there are bleedings which you can see with your eyes and there are bleedings you see only using camera with long exposure time setting.
The one considered as a failure is only if you can see the bleeding with your eyes.
Some bleedings are really worse that you can see it even on medium darkness picture.

It is disturbing if the monitor has this kind of failure.

There are several failures which we really do not want to have and very typical on LCD monitors:
1. Dead pixels
2. Noticeable backlight bleeding
3. Noticeable color inhomogeneity

Amazon’s webpage that you linked does not offer any specs for this monitor. Since there is such a vast selection of monitors and yet so few bricks-and-mortar stores for us to go see the physical monitors with our own eyes, we are dependent on specs: resolution? frequency? IPS? TN? response time? brightness? Acer and Amazon’s failure to list specs is a warning that says, “We don’t give a shit about this product and neither should you.”

ah...almost forgot..
Those bad reviews in amazon for example...just ignore them...
The chance of getting products with failures are usually under 10%.
and..
RMA topic is a general topic for you for buying things...not only monitors...

edit:
by amazon, pick monitors from well known dealers. I have to agree...those without proper product description are not to be trusted
