Hello.

I have this weird problem. Whenever I start my game my frame rates are at a steady 30-40 but as I progress through the frames go as low as 10-20. Whenever I restart the game however I get the nice frame rates again but eventually the ugly rates start happening.

Any idea what causes this?

you need to tweak the .ini file. Go to my documents, my games, bioshock infinite, xengine.ini

Use the find hot key (control f) and type in usebackgroundlevelstreaming. Set this to false. You frame rate issues should be gone.

That tweak is to resolve the frame drops from new areas loading. The OP is describing a steady loss of framerate until he has to reset the game to get back to his starting (in this case 30) fps. The OP is describing something more like a memory leak, but the game doesn't have any reported leaks so I'd suggest updating drivers, getting some system monitoring software, and when the game starts to chug, see what your sysmemory and gpu-memory is looking like. Is it choked up at 100%?
