The problem that i am having is that im not getting the upload/download speed advertised.

The broadband package that has been advertised is 100mb/s download speed and 10mb/s upload speed. I am with Virgin Media and fairly recently swapped over from Sky.

http://www.speedtest.net/result/2634035893.png
81 down, 1.8 up

is it a driver or setting that is limiting my upload speed from reaching the 10mb/s as advertised? I don't really mind about the down because it seems to fluctuate quite a bit but is consistently above 75.

Would be great if someone could help me fix this problem

I know that the problem is not caused by the internet lead being faulty because
when i put it into the side of my laptop i get 92 down and 9 up so i have to assume that it has to be a driver or something.

nobody ever gets advertised speeds. things like overhead, how far you are from your ISP's hub, and how much bandwidth your neighbourhood is using and at what times will all diminish your speed. with that said you should expect to be getting at least 80% of what's been advertised to you.
your down speed is OK, but you should expect to get 8 up if you're paying 10.
do another speedtest during non-peak hours with nothing else on your computer/LAN using any bandwidth, if it still falls very short then contact your ISP.
