Theme service won't work

Hi all, I've got a slight problem as my Areo theme is lost and my computer has gone to the classic theme. I've tried going into services but 'Themes' doesn't seem to be listed there which isn't helpful at all. I've also ran sfc/scannow and that didn't work either.
I've tried going into the Areo folder itself and it says it can't load because the Theme Service isn't running. I don't kno what else to try.
Many thanks!

Thank you for your reply.
There isn't a 'Themes' service to click on when I run 'services.msc'.
I'm meant to be using Vista but my whole computer looks like xp with the toolbar and icons etc. I'm not to sure how to fix it without finding this Themes service but bit isn't in the list.

Verify that you are actually using Vista.
Hit the start button (in the bottom left hand corner),
Right click on "Computer" or "My Computer"
Go to properties, It should say the version of Vista.

You can also follow this guide: http://www.winhelponline.com/blog/fix-themes-service-errors-windows-7-and-vista/

Download the link and run the Vista registry change.

Services don't just dispensary, something really bad must have happened... virus/spyware, someone deleted critical Windows files.
