  1. You need to determine whether is your router or your cable or dsl modem.

Connect your PC directly to the modem and see if this happens. If it still does, it's between you and your internet service provider.

If it doesn't, replace your router.

I do not have a seperate modem, i just have a wireless router i am guessing the modem is built in. I have tried plugging it in using an ethernet cable before but this did not make any difference. Any other suggestions?

If you used an ethernet cable to connect your router/modem to your pc and you STILL do not have an Internet connection, then you must call your cable/dsl provider and have them take a look. I had a similar situation this past weekend and the cable company had to reset the modem. In my case, the modem had a bad IP address and was unable to find the DNS server.
  4. Most of the time you get a modem from your ISP and you buy a wireless router from Best Buy or a store like that.

Sometimes ISP's give you a modem/wireless router combo.

Either way, I'm willing to bet it's your ISP's issue.
