I'm 13 and I've built a gaming computer, and I just wanted people's opinions on it since I have upgraded it since I made it.

i5 3570k Overclocked to 4.2ghz.
ASUS P8Z77-V LX motherboard
Patriot black mamba 8gb @1600mhz
1tb hard-drive @7200rpm
Radeon HD 7850 2gb overclocked to 1ghz and memory @1.2ghz
Zalman z11 plus case
CX600 PSU

I'm getting an SSD next week too, any suggestions what SSD would be suitable for around £120-£150? That's reliable?

I've still got a stock cooler but it runs nicely at around 40 on idle and when gaming about 70.

Thank you.:)

(I only put them on there just incase anyone was curious) :p

Thanks for your reply:) I've been looking at some nice Samsung one's actually!:) And it's my first build so my cable tying wasn't the best, I'll sort that all out when I put my ssd in though!

think it was either ebuyer.co.uk or dabs.co.uk that emailed me today about the samsung ssd cashback

and i have a bit of a cheek really as my cable tidying skills are pretty awfull anyway

my latest attempt is the best i have ever managed

Very nice system for a 13 yr old. You should be proud. Everyone wants an ssd now a days. I don't know the prices in the UK but I think you'll only be able to get a quality 128GB one. I think you should wait until you can afford or when prices come down to get 256GB ssd. The main advantage to ssds are fast boot up and fast program loading. For gamers 128G is not enough for the OS, utility programs, office and games. My 16 year son filled a 600G WD raptor in a year and a half.

Thank you:) Woah, that's filled up really quick! I mainly want a 256gb one though, Just to put my OS on it and put One or two games on at a time before unistalling them, and I might put a few extra things on there:)

their budget of £120-£150 will get them a good quality 250gb--256gb ssd at current uk prices

and if careful and use the ssd space saving tweaks 128gb is enough for the OS, utility programs, office and

some games

I ended up cleaning up the HD as much as possible and did a clean install of Windows 7 on a Samsung 128 GB ssd. I put office some utilities and some games on the ssd. He can boot from either disk depending on what he wants to do.
