I'm looking to play competitively on Battlefield 3/4 as well as CS:GO

My computer is ridiculously outdated and I need new hardware (besides things like a HD)

Above is my parts picker list of items that I would plan to get in a month +1/2 weeks.

What do you guys think?

I have relatively new 4GB DDR3 Ram that I believe should be stable on this build already.

Goals: High, consistent fps, smooth game play on higher settings

Where I could use help: I, like most, would like to SAVE on this build. However I don't want to be cheap and regret it in the near future. Is there anywhere I could be saving money, or increasing performance for similar cost?

Also: What PSU Should I use for this build? I already have a Titan Power ATX 550.

Edit : could I potentially go for a cheaper gpu?

Thanks for the consistent help guys much appreciated!

I recently upgrade a Core 2 Duo on a P35 to i5 on Z75. What a huge difference! I had sputtering and now switched all my settings to high/highest without any detriment.

If you're not planning on overclocking, I suggest the i5-3350P. It's a bit cheaper and still performs wonderfully.
Again, if not overclocking the Z77 could be turned down to a Z75.
4GB of RAM should be sufficient, be sure it can match the fsb of the mobo, else you may see some loss of performance.
I personally think you could cut your GPU cost by $50 and still get great performance. This mainly depends on what resolution you use and the CPU/GPU workload split of individual games. 100-120% of CPU cost is a good price/performance goal.
$50 for a case is a sweet spot, nice work.
I usually spend more cash on a mouse than keyboard, but they are both very personal items.
550W should handle the parts you listed, for sure it would cover the lesser items I have mentioned.

Be careful price shopping at different sites, often the best deal is a result of a single site's offers and shipping discounts.

Good luck, and enjoy.
