Can anyone suggest me best linux distro for my Asus laptop(N56vm-ab71). I used linux mint, mageia, ubuntu, with this laptop in my past. I am looking for a good distro with latest kernel and rock solid performance with everything working from out of box.

Thanks in advance

Well as always, the latest ubuntu distro is amazing as always, and depending on how you enjoy you gui to look, you could go with the latest mint (idk if you know but its the same workings as ubuntu but with a more windows-esk look and feel). Also, aside from that i would definitely go to try out the latest KDE release, seeing as they are usually one of the most downloaded if not the most downloaded distro out there....

+1 to C2T about Ubuntu and Kubuntu (the KDE edition of Ubuntu). Xubuntu is also a strong choice (that's what I use). For the best stability, grab version 12.04 LTS.
