Can someone please help pick my 1st desktop? after some research, coming from ps3 i dont know a great deal about pc so dont ask me to build one lol, the best i have found with a 500quid budget is an :
amd 6200 3.8ghz 8gb mem 1tb gtx650 2gb
amd 8320 3.5ghz 8gb mem 1tb ati 7750 1gb or same but with gt640
same specs as above apart from its an i5 with a 2gb ati 7750
fx 4170 4.2 ghz 8gb mem 1tb with an ati 7770
or...phenom II x4 3.4ghz 8gb mem 1tb with a 650ti?..all of which have windows7/8
Goal is to get highest fps on bf3 etc. Feedback will be hugely appreciated, Thanks

The most balanced of them is the Phenom, simply because it has the best graphics card and that's where you get your value for gaming.

I'd avoid any FX processors that don't have a 3 as the 2nd digit, as that indicates they are the current range (ie FX6300, FX8320).

Without specifying your budget (quid could be any currency) it's going to be hard for people to make suggestions.
Also, you might want to specify a few things. Namely what your display resolution is, and whether you intend to focus on single player (which is GPU limited) or multiplayer (which leans heavier on the CPU, meaning a good quad core is highly recommended).

I highly doubt anyone plays Battlefield 3 for the singleplayer.

OP: If possible, please include links to the sales pages for those PCs, or if they're made to order, at least post the price for each. Also consider buying a system without a graphics card, then buying and installing one yourself (a fairly simple process, even if you've never touched the insides of a computer before), if the price premiums seem to be a bit high.
