7950 boost edition being bottlenecked?

I had my 7950 sapphire boost eidition clocked to 1025/1575
I started up far cry 3 to see what it could do.
On "very high" preset with 0 AA, it was lagging.. Bad..

My cpu is a Q6600 core 2 quad. It is at stock 2.4 ghz. I cant overclock it because it is in a dell computer.

My new build is comin thursday so then i can put my 7950 in my new computer, but i wanted to test it out.

Also with my new cpu (fx-6300) will i experience bottlenecking? Im going to see if i can OC it to 4.2ghz

Hi :)

Run it standard in your new build for a few days BEFORE overclocking anything, so you will have a benchmark...

All the best Brett :)

I think with that OC you will be much better FPS wise. Your current cpu will OC past 3.2GHz - to bad Dell doesn't let you.

Its for sure bottlenecking, apart Far Cry 3 is optimized to use 4 cores so upgrade to at least a quad core cpu
