Hey guys. Ever since I got my XFX 7950 3 GB I have noticed that the temps seem to be higher than I would consider normal. For example, Battlefield 3, I have to turn on VSYNC just to get the temps to stay below 70 degrees celsius. I thought that it was because I didn't have enough case fans to keep the inside of my chasis cool. Now, however, I started using Speedfan to monitor CPU temps as well and those temps are below average sitting at full load at max 50 degrees celsius as well as my HDD. I'm confused why this is happening. For more proof, I started playing the game Heroes and Generals on max settings and I almost hit 80 degrees celsius which almost scared me to death. I even tried turning down settings to try and alleviate some stress and nothing happened. Anyone have any ideas why this is happening?

Idle should be around 35-40c.
@ load I also Hit 80c though mine is MATX case :)
Normaly its because of poor ventilation inside case. Don't panic seeing 80c (But the cooler it is the better.)
As long you don't get to 90C or plus your safe.
Try improve case air flow, if necessary place a fan direct above the card blowing fresh air.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure that hitting 80 degrees celsius can shorten the lifespan of the parts. 90, i think, is only the temperature that can cause breakdown. I'm not 100% sure but I'll try improving the airflow inside. Thanks

Like I said to the other guy, I just feel as though 80 degrees can cause shortening of lifespan. I'm not 100% sure but you could be right. It just sounds as though my fans are working extremely hard to get the air out. I'll look into it more though. Thanks.
