Hello,

Does enabling Cool 'N Quiet, Secure Virtual Machine, and having Thermal throttling set to auto (i.e. the chip's default settings) hamper performance when CPU temps are not an issue? I have a self-contained water cooling system and idle temps are around 26-28 C, gaming temps below 40 C on a Phenom II X4 965 BE @ 3.4 GHz. I'm wondering if having these enabled will always slow down processor when it's at max load regardless of temps and if therefore I should disable them?

Basically I'm asking if these features are smart enough to know when not to slow down the CPU when I need it the most if my temperatures are well under control?

-Cheers

No, they shouldn't be slowing your CPU down. If you want extra performance however - and I recommend it, considering your cooling - then overclocking will help.

There are many guides online that will help you.
