Dead HDD, Windows COA sticker worn = SOL?

I am trying to fix a laptop for somebody. The harddrive is confirmed dead, but the rest of the system is in great shape. However, since the HD is dead, I of course don't have the system restore partition. The owner doesn't think they burned the system restore DVDs. I have access to an OEM installer for windows 7, but of course luck would have it that the COA sticker on the bottom is worn to the point it is completely unreadable.

Do I have any options other than buying another $90 OEM license? Laptop is new enough it is definitely worth saving, I just don't want to have them buy windows again if there is another way.

Laptop is Lenovo if that makes a difference.

Contact Lenovo they usually have a way to order a cd/dvd that has all the oem software on it. They'll need to verify info off the laptop first. Most mfg's offer recovery cd's and dvd's you can purchase. Don't know if they include the software key but you can purchase the disks for the make/model of the laptop.
