Hello, all. I ran an overclock on Crysis 3 (Gtx 670 SLI +115 MHZ), and it's usually OK. The only thing I changed was the power target to 120 instead of 115. In the middle of my first match, I noticed I dropped to 10 fps. I should have had my afterburner graphs in my second monitor, but it showed that my temps had soared to 102c for about 20 seconds! I immediately ended the overclock.

Why didn't I get a full system shutdown? The max temp of the 670 is 97c.

Did I do any substantial damage?

On a side note, for reference Nvidia cards, realistically, how much am I wearing down my cards' fans if I run them as loud as vacuum cleaners so that my temps don't reach 70?

I played for 1 hour after the temp spike. No crashes or artifacts.

So what damage could I have suffered?
