ive recently been wanting to make a gaming pc and want to use the fx-8350 purely because of my budget and cant afford a 3570k or 3770k and wanted to know if the chip will run to full potential with this motherboard: Asus M5A97 R2.0 AMD 970 AM3+ Motherboard Socket AM3+. thank you :)

i was just wondering that ASUS M5A97 R20 & AMD FX 8350 is a good deal?
because i'm thinking to buy that motherboard and amd fx-3850 with a readon amd 7850
i'm thinging hardcore games like rome ii an d BF3 amd FC3

Yes, I run the M5A97 R2.0 and FX 8350 + HD 7870XT, you would be fine with that.

4.1-4.2 GHz should be achievable. You may need to bump your vcore a bit to get it there (I wouldn't think much though), though that should be well within reach.

Haha funny post. People who complain about necro-posts in the actual necro-post, are just as bad as the person who originally necro-posted.

I just installed a M5A97 R2 board in my system the other day, works great. Triple boot with WinXP/7/Linux Mint 12. Currently have a 1090T, but may upgrade to 8350 in the future, or if something better comes along. One slight problem I had with the board is that sound didn't work in windows 7 with drivers included with motherboard. So I uninstalled the audio device/drivers, and then let windows 7 automatically update the sound drivers, and no problem.
