Yes, that motherboard will work like a champ! Make sure you have the newest version of BIOS, but otherwise, you'll be in great shape.

from bios version 1006 and on supports fx 8350 just check the barcode on the mobo the last for digits should read 1006 or more if not you can go with ga-970a-ud3 (Rev3.0) which support fx series out of the box

You posted in a thread from 6 months ago...that's called a necro post because you're bringing it back from the dead. They don't like it around here either unless it's for a really good reason.

Yes, I run the M5A97 R2.0 and FX 8350 + HD 7870XT, you would be fine with that.

4.1-4.2 GHz should be achievable. You may need to bump your vcore a bit to get it there (I wouldn't think much though), though that should be well within reach.

Haha funny post. People who complain about necro-posts in the actual necro-post, are just as bad as the person who originally necro-posted.

I just installed a M5A97 R2 board in my system the other day, works great. Triple boot with WinXP/7/Linux Mint 12. Currently have a 1090T, but may upgrade to 8350 in the future, or if something better comes along. One slight problem I had with the board is that sound didn't work in windows 7 with drivers included with motherboard. So I uninstalled the audio device/drivers, and then let windows 7 automatically update the sound drivers, and no problem.

What if I can't get into bios. Or no boot cause of CPU is new? What should you do?
