Ok so a little background first. I share an Internet connection with friends across the street via wireless connection. They have a dual modem/wireless router for their Internet. My computer's wireless network card connects great (full bars and speed). However due to the distance (and the fact I live in a metal trailer) other wireless devices of mine (laptop, smartphone, xbox) have extreme difficulty connecting.
To remedy this I am attempting to connect a wireless router to my computer through Internet Connection Sharing. How ever I cannot get it to work.
Current network setup is thus:
(thier house) modem/wireless router ----> (my house) My Computer wireless nic -------> My Computer ethernet nic ------> wireless router ------>?????
I have made certain that there is no network conflicts over IP addresses, and my computer can access the internet fine, but I cannot get my wireless router to broadcast a useable signal.
Any help?
I am running Windows XP Pro SP2, and my wireless router is a Linksys WRT54G2.
Thank you!
