Hello,

Should I get the fx 8320 with a gigabyte ga970a ud3 or the i5 3350p with a Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H or the msi z77a g43.
The intel option is 15,- more expensive. I saw the 3350p performed worse than the 3470 but still want to know if its better then the fx 8300.
I'm going to use my build for gaming and editing.

It's about the difference of turning on 1 extra 40W bulb in your home over the course of a year...(a few dollars at most)

I would take the amd fx 8320, even when games and programs are badly optimized for the amd fx 8320 it still performs aswell as an i5 3570k, and when games and programs are optimized for this processor it can sometimes compete with a i7 3770T.

If you want to have cheaper energy-bill go for i5-3350P but if that is not a concern then go with the cheaper AMD FX. FX can be overclocked and they do overclock very well which is a good thing, however the energy consumption rises aswell. i5 can also be overclocked partly (+400MHz with P67 till Z77 series). More and more edition application get GPU-acceleration, meaning that that the gpu takes care of the editing, for instance Camtasia 8.0 can use gpu that supports DX9.

Steamroller is also coming and haswell is also coming soon.
