CPU Fan error Press F1 for setup

I finished building my pc last night and even though everything seems to be working just fine i get this error message:

"CPU Fan error Press F1 for setup"

Here is a list of my components:
Samsung 840 pro series 250gb
Seagate Barracuda 3TB 7200 RPM
Cooler Master HAF 922
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB)
MSI N660Ti PE 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB
Intel Core i7 3770k
Corsair 650 psu

I have installed the stock fan for the cpu and it spins just fine. I have no idea what this could be related to. I boot to windows and everything works fine. Ideas?

More about cpu fan error press setup
  1. Somewhere in the bios (something with pc health) there is a minimal rpm for the fan. The default value is most likely a bit high at the moment.
  2. Is the CPU Heatsink fan connected to the CPU_Fan header? Or just a PWR_Fan?
