HDMI not recognizing on my PC

Hey there. Sorry if I'm asking a silly question, but I've recently moved and as I've been getting comfortable with the place, I have a new HDTV. The issue is it only has HDMI ports, so in order for me to get a display via HDMI, I have to use it from my GTX 580. The issue however is my PC does not recognize any HDMI cable I put into the port, and I'm sure the port worked before as I used it at the old location. Does anyone know exactly on how to troubleshoot this? My only guess was the card came with a mini-HDMI cable that worked, but I believe I lost that in the move, and I know the HDMI cables I did use work, as they work for my cable and my PS3. I assume either the HDMI port on this thing is shot, or it's an issue with the cable. Since when I used it however, I did replace the motherboard, if that's anything to consider. I'm unsure if HDMI has to be enabled on the BIOS or not, but it didn't have to on my old machine. I figure I'd give you all a basic rundown of my situation, as I'm forced to use two HDTVs right now, with my new one getting no use at all right now. :p

Wjen you mentioned enabling the HDMI port in the BIOS, it made me wonder if you might have connected to your mobo port. Believe it, or not, that is fairly common.

When using ports on your video card, you don't have to enable them. If the drivers are properly installed, and the port is functional, it should work.

Are you using the latest drivers from the nvidia website? If not, go there and get and then install them.

If so, double check the input port on your HDTV and verify that you manually select the desired port on it.

BTW, do you have another display connected to the GTX 580?

I only brought up the BIOS thing as I did a quick Google search before posting here. The HDMI port is on the back of my PC, from my GTX 580. And yes, I'm currently using a DMI port from the GTX 580 to my current television. Should I consider getting a DVI to HDMI setup, seeing as the DVI port is verified to be 100% working?

When you boot your system when it's connected to the HDTV, do you see anything at all? Are you sure you're on the correct HDMI input on the HDTV (this is also more common than you'd think). Have you tried booting your system into safe mode? Sometimes, this is little more than a resolution mis-match between the PC and the HDTV.
