Please provide motherboard that is being used.

If your motherboard has 4 slots, put memory in 1 and 3 or 2 and 4 to use dual channel.

Saw the edit. You won't get dual channel on most laptops.

dont really know the mobo in the laptop, the model of the laptop is the Gateway nv55s36u and it ships with 4 gigs of ddr3 10600 memory which cpu-z stated where running in dual channel mode

I would not worry about it too much to be honest. It's running at the correct speed and timings and the laptop is seeing all 8Gb of it so it's working correctly. Very likely CPU-Z just is not reading that kit as dual channel for some reason. Have you tried another program like Speccy, PC Wizard or HWInfo?

No not yet, but since you brought it up it cant hurt to check those programs to see if they recognize the ram and to see if it is working as intended.
