Got myself a 7870 xt, and i'm liking it, made by vtx though and only has 1 fan :(, should i get an after market cooler or get a 7950, i got the twin frozr 3 in mind. It will cost quite abit more though, so i'm not sure. I'm still wondering if the new cooler is worth it. but on msi kombuster at 99% load it gets to 80 degrees and fan does go a little crazy. Idk i feel i might be able to live with it..

80 degrees isn't that bad at all for a graphics card, especially not when basically at full load.

Try playing games while monitoring the temps - if they're under or just around 70, which they likely will be, then you're fine. As long as the cooler isn't too noisy for you, don't worry about it.

Those load tests give you a unreasonable temperature that you will NEVER get when gaming. I would guess that it maxes at around 70 C so it should be good. The after market cooler is up to you. The only reason I can think of you needing one is mainly the temperature and the noise. In my opinion I don't think after market coolers are worth it. If you are satisfied with the performance of the 7870 XT then keep it...

I pulled back my oc by 20 mhz'ish on both, now at 1180mhz core and 1575 memory, temps don't go over 80 degrees :)

i was wondering, should i put a pci exhaust fan right next to my card? so it intakes the air straight from the one fan and exhausts most out the case, i was wondering if the fans would conflict or anything.

I have the MSI and the Asus Direct CU 7950s
the asus is better for OC easy to adjust voltage and runs cooler but takes up 1 more pci slot
