I'm looking at replacing my integrated graphics ATI Radeon HD 4200. The new monitor I just got is a 1920x1200. Any advise on what card to get to power this? It does work with what I now have, but I'd like improvement.
Any advise would be welcome!
Thanks!

What is your budget for this? That will help you decide on what to buy that and does your PSU have 6 pin connectors if not then you would need to get a molex to 6 pin adapter. The HD 7750 runs off the MOBO pci slot and can be found for around $90 us. HD 7770 is around $120 but both can be found on sale.

I'm not sure on the PSU. I will open it and look tomorrow. The power supply that came with this is 250w. I'm assuming this would have to be changed also to 500w - 600w to power the HD 7750 and up. Am I correct in thinking the PSU will also have to changed? Around $100 would be Ok for a new card, but not much higher than that, considering the power supply may need replacing also.
Thanks

Thanks for your quick reply! I'm assuming you are familiar with the HP p6754y PC. I want to make sure the card will fit before I order. I have found these 2 cards at Newegg

SAPPHIRE 100357LP Radeon HD 7750 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready Low Profile Video Card
Item #: N82E16814202002

SAPPHIRE 100358L Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card
Item #: N82E16814202011

About $10 difference. Will both of these fit and is one of these better for what I'm using the PC for (no gaming)?
Yes I will have to replace the PSU also.

I went to look at what the local Best Buy had on their shelves. Only choice was the HD6670 for about the same price as the cards from Newegg.

I'm going with the HD7750. The PSU looks good too. The dimensions on the COOLER MASTER are a tad different than the PSU I have in there now. COOLER MASTER: 5.9"x5.8"x3.4". The current PSU in my system is: 5.9"x5.5"x3.4". I hope this won't be a problem as it is very slightly different. I will order them tomorrow unless you think the dimensions of the COOLER MASTER will not fit, but it looks like it will be fine.
Thanks for all your advise. You've been a huge help!

I took a closer look at the COOLER MASTER Elite that you recommended. On my current PSU the AC and fan are on the same face, which faces the rear of the computer cabinet. The COOLER MASTER Elite has the fan on the top and the AC plug in is on a different side. This will not work with mine as there is not a vent on the top of my case. The AC plug and fan have to be on the back face. Do you have any other PSU in mind that would fit this. And again the current PSU measures: 5.9"x5.5"x3.4".
Any thoughts or suggestions would very much be appreciated.
Thanks

I did find another PSU from Buy.com which seems to fit the criteria (found via Best Buy website)
Startech - 530 Watt ATX12V 2.3 80 Plus Computer Power Supply Active PFC (SKU 5345298)
and also
Startech - 450W ATX Computer Power Supply (SKU 4528071)
$8 difference between the 2 models.
Any thoughts on these PSU's?
Thanks again!
