I want to build a Gaming PC and get the most for my money. I have a budget of 1,000 us. I did a bit of research on these forums and found someone posted this build. Is this still the most PC i can get for that price when it comes to gaming?

You nailed this - only thing I would do is this - you don't need a 620w power supply, so drop down to a 550w and upgrade your 670 to a better brand. Gigabyte has the "best" card before overclocking, but their warranty and their customer service are both absolutely horrible.

I'm sorry, what?

1) The 7970 is more expensive than the 670 is.

2) Although it doesn't produce as high of fps, the 670 has considerably less frame latencies - that means nothing on a normal 60Hz monitor, really, but it matters if you think you're going to upgrade your monitor later down the road. For a high resolution or triple monitor setup, AMD is the way to go - for an IPS or 120Hz panel, then Nvidia is what you want.
