Hey guys. a few months ago I installed Windows 8. It used to work properly but one day when I tried to shut it down, it didn't do that! The system was on for about 40 minutes and it hadn't been shut down yet! This problem kept occurring several times in that period (3-4 months). Of course there was another problem too. One day when I turned on the system, the Windows, loaded my profile and said "Please wait", I waited, but it doesn't show up the metro or even desktop! Why such problems happen? To get away from this, I migrated to Windows 7. But what do you think about the source of these problems?

I trust that Windows 7 worked fine once you switched to it? When you were having the issues with Windows 8 did you do any Windows updates? Any driver updates? There are many things that can cause issues and a lot of them have to do with software conflicts. You would have had to look in the event viewer to see what had been recorded there each time you had an event. If Windows has trouble shutting down or going into the desktop (metro) then it's most likely a software conflict that Windows couldn't resolve.

Oh sorry guys I'v been off for a few days! Thank you for your solution. I'm currently on windows 8 and those problems haven't occurred yet. First of all I suspected ASUS Fast Boot and disabled it. I've installed W8 on my laptop PC (6 months ago) and it doesn't have such problems the point is, my laptop's BIOS has not been updated and its kinda old version, so I thought this would help me. I'll be staying alerted.
