I'm wondering if I buy a 4TB Ext drive that is Windows 8 Compatible will Windows 8 see the full 4TB? I have an ASUS motherboard with UEFI BIOS-whnI installedmy Internal 3TB hard drive with Windows 7 Ult. it saw the drive but I had to use the ASUS Drive expander software to see almost all the 3TB but on 2 Partitions-Will I have to do this for the 4TB External? Sorry for the long uestion but I am just a novice

Windows 8 on my system did not have a problem with a 4tb drive. I had to format it with GPT partition and that is all I had to do for it to see the full size.

4TB limit is for the old MBR limit for boot hdd's.

UEFI + Win8 does not have this limit.
