Hi I play a lot of Pc games and recently went from a 7770 to a 660 but I don't think my cpu can handle the 660. I currently have a a10 5800k apu but am thinking of bumping up to a I5 3570k. Would this help gaming performance and is is worth the cost. Thanks in advance.

As said above it would help but it would probably not make or break the system, despite the huge cost you would pay... For the i5 3570k you would need a new mobo with the z77 chip, which is an additional $100 + the time it takes to take apart your system and rebuild with new mobo, assuming you don't break anything...

You could go cheaper with a i5 3570 (no k) as this is a locked chip (no overclocking) you could get a slightly cheaper mobo and save some money on both parts, but still the cpu is rarely the bottle neck of a gaming pc unless it is less than 2 cores.

I'm also would sell my A10 and motherboard to help cover the cost. Is it worth it now?

Well that depends on what you can get someone to pay for your used mobo and processor. But all told for the hardware, if you're getting 3570k it is ~$230 plus ~$100 mobo, how much do you have to spend on the switch?

Just run a few games and monitor the GPU usage on the 660. If you are running in the 90s most of the time then your CPU isn't bottlenecking. You probably don't need to upgrade.

It sounds like you are trying to rationalize, and don't care about the cost, so if you want to upgrade just do it. If you do, follow the other guy's advice and return that 660 at the same time.

Im really not worried about the price and I've wanted to change eventually anyway. Im also getting the I5 for I80 and mobo for 54.

The graphics card performs fine but the cpu get up to 90°C with a aftermarket cooler. I think im bottlenecking because the game will run fine the have a huge drop or a stutter.

Unless your CPU usage is 95%+ through those parts of the game, it's your GPU. The 660 is a mid range card...you'd be better served with something like a HD 7850/7870

The stutter is bc your CPU is burning up and throttling down. Check to make sure your cooler is tight and maybe redo the thermal paste. At 90c that CPU will not be around for to long. With no overclocking an a working cooler you should be able to run full tilt indefinately without hitting those temps.
