Knocked my PC of my desk yesterday. has run just fine for 24 hours. It started making a clicking sound, screen went dark
I reboot the computer but all I get is the Disk Boot Failure, insert system disk (which I don't seem to have)

Sounds like you crashed your hard drives head due to the shock:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Head_crash

Your hard drive is likely gone. You will need a new one. The error you are saying basically means its not reading the magic numbers from the MBR to know you have a bootable partition there. The clicking sound is also likely related to that as the head is probably going back and forth trying to read data, but can't.

You may be able to have your data professionally recovered, for a fee, but unless it's very important information (worth 10,000) it'll probably be too expensive to have it professionally recovered. So I hope you had back ups..

Good luck.
