I have a 3TB NAS drive on my router. Can a drive with an ethernet cable be plugged in to the RJ45 port on my laptop? If so how would it be configured to work as a drive?
Yes, you can use a cross over cable (or regular cable of both nics are 1G) to connect the NAS directly to your laptop. But the device will still show up as a network share and not as a direct attached disk.
