Ill keep this short. I have a Hd 6670 card. This works fine and always has done. I decided to upgrade to the gtx 660ti ( i have a 650watt psu ). When installing the card i get no signal to the monitor when booting. The mobo says its cleared bios and the fan on the card is spinning and the pc runs just like its normally would except the monitor displays no signal. Please help im so fustrated. Also if i put my old card back in it works fine

double check your power plugs are plugged into the card, otherwise not much else to do but return it and get another.

Dumb question, but did you properly un install the ATI card before putting in the NVIDIA card? I'm talking about drivers.

^This (first).
Uninstall all the AMD drivers. Shut down and switch off the PSU so +5VSB is not flowing, then install the new card. Be sure to plug in its PCIe power cable(s) (the HD6670 did not use one). Some graphics cards have a piezo shrieker on them which will scream if you forget to plug in their power; my GTX650Ti just runs its fan full speed if you do that.
What brand and model (not just wattage) is your PSU?
Once you have a display, boot into Windows and install the drivers for your new card.

foremost, thanks for replying. The psu i am using is a corsair tx650.
I made sure that i plugged in the pci e power connectors into the card. I removed ( or i thought i did) all of drivers from the old card although is there a specific method that you would recommend? Plus are the amd drivers and the ati drivers the same because when i used driver sweep it removed all ati drivers but i dont know if that means all of the amd stuff to. Or am i just being an idiot?
Also you said something about +5VSB, i switched off and unplugged the psu so is that what you mean? Oh and for the record i used an antistatic wristband the whole time. Thanks again

Well now that you come to say that at first i didnt when installing the card but then i put my old card back in and using the screen resolution> properties > clicked on the properties for the card > drivers > uninstall.
Then i went into control panel and clicked on the amd catalyst control centre and chose the uninstall all amd option.

Was there something else i should have done or has this whole thing gone balls up?

Although we often suggest programs like CCleaner to remove drivers, A) it isn't always necessary (your method should have worked), and B) bad/missing drivers would cause glitches and anomalies, not a completely blank screen.
You may have just gotten a bad card. It happens.

Unless you have another system in which you can test it, then yes, a RMA is probably your best shot.

If you don't see video even before Windows has loaded, it isn't a driver issue. Can you get into the BIOS? If you can't see the BIOS screens, reloading Windows isn't going to fix this.
Did you check your video cable? Is it the same one that works on the HD6670?

I see absolutely no video whatever point in the boot. It is exactly the same cable used for the 6670. I cant see bios screens so i guess its off to bug evga for an rma then. Just to check

I have an AsRock Fatal1ty Professional P67 Motherboard and I just wondered if this was suitable? Im sure it is but just to check
