Hi :)
please help me choose one out of these laptops as I am finding it very confusing to go for one. I will be using the laptop for daily purpose and sometimes for gaming which includes StarCraft II, Dirt3, MaxPayne 3 etc.. , but I want a piece that will last for at least next 2-3 years easily.

Here are the choices I am confused with-->

This one has APU A6 and 7670M...

This one has A8 and 7670M again but unlike the previous one, its 2GB

And finally, this one, I really liked the aesthetics and feel of this laptop but I think it does not stands up that much when it comes to value for money ratio. It lacks USB 3.0 and I am not sure if it's DVD drive is multi-layer supported and is able to write or not, it also has 7650M, a little slower than 7670m. I am little confused that should I consider it's 3120M as an advantage over APUs or it will not make much difference?

But still I liked its overall look and simple hardware outer texture :).

Suggest me another one if there is any better choice in this price range..
my budget is approx. about $650.
I do also own a 2500K with no discreet GPU, which one I should go for? should I save the money with laptop and buy a decent GPU for desktop instead? which one would you suggest considering the new arrivals?

Thanks very much for your time, waiting egarly for your responses.

does it need to be a laptop? not like most smartphones can't perform tasks like email, web-browsing ect now, enough for most people on the move. how about just a nice gaming pc for when u get home? :)

Thanks for your reply :)
Actually I already own two android smart phones at home and they are not much fun for internet browsing, plus I am in need of laptop to run softwares too for my engineering purpose.
I appriciate your view, but given the fact that I am intersted in laptops only, which one would you suggest?
And yeah, a nice gaming pc at home sounds good but I still need a laptop for medium-heavy work.

Thanks for that valuabel suggestion of 7850!
I am considering it as an option.
But still, I fear that the low-end laptop will outdate too soon than the price I have paid for it to purchase. So, it would be good for me to have a laptop with medium configuration.
7850 sounds good, yeah... its bit costly, and when I subtract the cost from my budget, I am left with these options:

And

There is also another one from ASUS not available on that website, it has the same price as that of above and has AMD Brazos CPU @1.09GHz and 2GB ram and 500GB HDD. What do you think if those two can survive softwares like MATLAB or at least movies @720p ?

For movie (DVDs and Blu-ray) just about any Laptop will work fine - it will be scaled to the screen resolution. Not going to change say 3 years from now.
DVDs/Blu-ray are not that demanding - they play fine on my 4 year old core dual CPUs w/integrated graphics and my 3 yr old core 2 dual laptop.

Laptop you linked to is 1366 x 768 Pixel, so 720 would be no problem.

Tablets, more of a pain for watching a DVD/Blu-ray as they do not have a dvd drive. What I do is to convert the DVD/blu-ray to a playable format (also reduces the size) and stick on a thumb drive or SD card. My 64 gig thumbdrive will hold about 20 converted movies.

MATLAB - I do not use so can not evaluate how it would perform, but you could google it and find what min spec are and then see if you are a couple of steps above min requirements.

Noted that linked laptop comes with Linux, so if you need windows 7/8 than that is an additional cost.
