Does a Radeon hd 7750 work with a pci express 1.1 slot motherboard like Digilite dl-g41mx3-lt?

I'm planning on buying Radeon hd 7750 but i'm not sure whether my motherboard which is digilite dl-g41mx3-lt with pci ex 1.1 slot supports it...any help in this regard will be appreciated...

Yes, PCIe is a backward compatible format.

are you sure? have you run the card on a pcie 1.1 system?cause some say the card doesn't work in 1.1 slots due to it's newer power efficient design...

I have not. But the PCI Express standard specifies that any later version of PCIe be backward compatible with previous versions.

Well i heard that's only true for nvidia cards but as for the amd 7xxx series they support only upto pcie 2.0...don't know what to do...very confused here..

I have heard alot of maybes on the as far as 3.0/2.1 in 1.x slots.

It seems to be fine in the majority of cases but some motherboards are implemented "buggy" causing it to not work in some cases.

I sure hope it works since I will be getting a new card for my G41 based board soon.

it will work.before i had gigabyte g41 and i had tested my hd 7750 in it and it worked perfectly.

pci 2.1,3.0 have mostly no issue after g31 chipset like g31,g33,g41 so on.

issues with pci 1.0 mostly like old 945,965, mobo

in your case your are fine

make sure you uninstall the onboard drivers through device mananger and then put the gpu

and yes nvidia gpu have no problems of incompaibilty as they consume litle more power than amd gpus which maintains the backward compaibility
