Running Win 8. Connected monitor to PC via HDMI cable. Speakers on monitor worked. I connected headset directly to PC and wanted monitor speakers off. Disabled audio via on the monitor via the sound menu. Now I'm unable to enable the sound.

All the wonderful pictures in the sound menu are great.... *yay* ... but I get no options at all when trying to select my active monitor.. There are 5 other sound "monitors" listed and speaker ports, all of which have options when clicking or left clicking on them.

The sound is turned up and not muted on the actual monitor's menu. Connecting headset jack to monitor also does not work.

"If you right click the system tray sound icon and select playback devices, are your speakers enabled? If they don't even show up there, right click on the white area in the box and select show disabled devices, then enable them."
