I read somewhere that you can not have more then two DVI interfaces on one card. But does that stop me from hooking up both DVI ports to monitors, and getting a DVI to HDMI cable for a 3rd? Like one of these cables:
DVI to HDMI Cable, Amazon .

Also is it worth it to pay 40$ more for a 660?

Using that cable will allow you to use 3 monitors as far as I know. as for the gpu, the 660 is definitely worth it, it is much better than the 650 ti

You can USE them, yes. You won't be able to game on three monitors with either of those.

yes it can "run 3 monitors" BUT not at 1920 x 1080P resolution on ultra settings depending on the game. 1 maybe 2 monitors max for most games and hten your 1 monitor for game then the second for what ever else you want to display.

Bgunner, at a resolution of 5760x1080, I would be very VERY surprised if a 650 could run the lowest settings possible.

i would be running games at standard 1920 x 1080P on the central monitor alone. Im a hobby programmer, i can use the real-estate of 3 monitors.

Then yes, a 650ti would be fine.

However, I'd highly recommend a 7770 instead, unless you need the CUDA cores of Nvidia. The 7770 will handle three monitors much more smoothly.
