I recently built a new PC and when I had everything hooked up and I tried to boot for the first time and while the motherboad's lights came on and the fans and hard drive clicked into action, the system did not post and I heard no beeps from the BIOS. I double checked all the connections and removed the graphics card and RAM and re-seated all of them. I removed and replaced the CPU and tried flipping the speaker wire around a few times. Here is my build:

ASUS HD7770-DCT-1GD5 Radeon HD 7770 GHz Edition 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP

AMD FX-4100 Zambezi 3.6GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) Socket AM3+ 95W

Quad-Core Desktop Processor

ASUS M5A97 LE R2.0 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UW Black Aluminum Bezel , SECC Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case

G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900) Desktop Memory Model F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR

COOLER MASTER eXtreme Power Plus RS700-PCAAE3-US 700W ATX 12V v2.3 Active PFC Power Supply

ASUS 24X DVD Burner

Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem. and believe it or not it was a simple fix. My motherboard. for some reason my pc would not post or boot with it plugged in. I bought a new one and since then have had no problems. So try it without the motherboard plugged in to see how it goes. If that is not it make sure you do not have any extra screw ports under your motherboard you are not using. You would be surprised how often these two cause problems.
