Okay so I'm looking on building a nice AMD gaming build. I'm willing to spend up to $1200 on the main hardware since I have tons of extra hard drives, cases and coolers at home. Here are the specs I'm planning on buying.

AMD FX-8350 CPU
ASUS Sabertooth 990FX Motherboard
Corsair Vengance 8GB RAM
Samsung 840 SSD
2X Sapphire HD 7870 2GB

However I'm this is only an IDEA of what I'm going to buy. I need a confirmation if this is the BEST build I can get with $1200. So as you can see I have TONS of questions. Let me lay them out. I have experience on building regular desktops. I'm also planning on playing game like Crysis 1, 2, and 3, Battlefield 3, Far Cry 3, Guild Wars 2, stuff like that.

Is this the best for $1200?
Should I just get a cheaper AMD FX CPU
Will it be worth it to switch an Intel build?
Asus Crosshair Formula-Z or Asus 990FX?
GTX 660 SLI vs HD 7870 CF vs HD 7850 CF vs. HD 7970 vs. GTX 680

If it is strictly for gaming, the i5 IB or SB would probably be better, although there's nothing wrong with the 8 core Vishera. It just ranks a tiny bit lower in gaming than the Intel chips.

And with all the discussion lately about stutter in gaming with dual cards, it seems AMD cards are getting the worst rap. I would lean towards the Nvidia simply for that reason if you are planning on a dual card system. I hate saying that, because I really like AMD graphics cards.
