I'm planning on building a computer shortly (perhaps, I can be flexible) and I was wondering if these parts were the best for my specific case. I am going to college. I like playing games (Total war series is my favorite) and I would like to do low poly modeling (around 6000 triangle which the computer I have now can do with little problems)

I already have:
TV for monitor
HDMI cable
gaming mouse
xbox 360 controller
freeagent usb 2.0 960gb drive
usb 2.0 flash drive 8gb

Here is the parts I found

CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($219.98 @ Outlet PC)

CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($32.99 @ Newegg)
Thermal Compound: Arctic Cooling MX4 4g Thermal Paste ($9.99 @ Newegg)

Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Performance ATX LGA1155 Motherboard ($112.98 @ Newegg)

Memory: G.Skill Sniper Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($62.68 @ NCIX US)

Storage: Sandisk 64GB 2.5" Solid State Disk ($64.98 @ Outlet PC)

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($67.98 @ Outlet PC)

Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3GB Video Card ($309.99 @ Newegg)
Case: Thermaltake VN700M1W2N ATX Full Tower Case ($114.99 @ NCIX US)

Power Supply: Rosewill Stallion 500W ATX12V Power Supply ($49.99 @ Newegg)

Keyboard: Logitech K100 Wired Slim Keyboard ($10.14 @ Outlet PC)

Other: OS ($70.00)

Total: $1126.69
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

I plan on over clocking my cpu
motherboard likes good for the price right now
I want to have the ssd as a boot drive, and the hdd as my primary drive.
I really don't know what PSU to get, hoping to get one on sale with 500W+
My brother is a college student, so I hope to get a deal on the OS.
I am debating on what case to get. I just found the Overseer (thermaltake) today and have been looking at the HAF series (midtowers)
Deals on higher end components for the same price would be great, I don't really want to spend much more than I am now.

Do you have any specific psu's you like? (or, at least, what are the brand names I should look at? Cooler Master, Corsair, etc)
