my brother pulled the use regedit to purposely activate a BSoD on my PC, and I'm wondering: what is the potential damage? is there a chance I've lost anything? so far everything looks fine but what COULD have happened? i just wanted to know. thanks!

A BSOD doesn't cause damage. It's basically the computer saying "I don't know what to do or am upset about something and I can't work anymore."

You might have lost any items open during the blue-screen. Your brother also might have damaged the registry enough that you won't easily be able to recover... but system restore should do the trick.
