Hi guys I just got a computer and I was wondering if I should run it or not
Intel i5 3570k
Radeon 7850
(There are 5 fans in the case if it matters.)
With an xtremegear 600w power supply.
I have read that this psu just kills computers, so I wanted to make sure if I could run it while I wait for my new psu or just wait for the time being.

Although I have read little positive about the ExtremeGear PSU's, I have not heard of a failure taking out core components with it. It is a possibility though so you might not want to risk that - I know personally I wouldn't want to wait but I will recommend waiting just to be prudent. Whether you do or not is up to you - I would call it a minimal (yet real) risk. I think if anything, you would be alright to get some setting up done on the system (updates, program installs etc.) but I would try to avoid gaming or other intensive tasks until the PSU is replaced.
Just my take here

There are a myriad of ways a PSU can die. Sometimes in dying, it takes components with it, sometimes it passes quietly in the night, there really is no telling. I'm under the impression that the ExtremeGear PSU's are simply overrated as far as the wattage they are capable of sustaining and not crappy PSU's all around which is why I suggest not putting too much stress on it.
