Hi folks,

I am very much looking for help in regards of recovering my data from my Raid 0. I accidentally installed windows to one of the member disk and now all my files are gone and don't have backup...

I have found a good suggestion on what data recovery software to use. I recreated my raid to prepare it for data recovery. I installed a new hdd to install windows and data recovery software. But the software still see my Raid as two separate drives.

I think it is important for the software to see my Raid0 as a single drive before recovery. Please help.....

Your input will be very much appreciated....

You need to use a program like raid reconstructor(http://www.runtime.org/raid.htm), normal data recovery apps will not work on broken raid arrays. Any data that was located on or had parts of it located(being a striped array) on that drive that had windows installed on it has been overwrote and is gone, so its very likely a large part of your data is gone.

bignastyid,

thanks very much for your reply. yeah I used raid reconstructor earlier but most of the fields to be filled up are asking very technical questions and hard to answer. In the end, it won't let me repair my raid.

yeah most likely I lost a lot of those files. but im just taking a chance for I have very important documents there. I used R-studio that one of the guys here suggested. I recovered files but I cannot open them. I'm thinking I should be able to see my raid 0 as one drive in my windows before R-studio can correctly recover data, but problem is I see my Raid0 as two separate drives.

I already re-created my raid through bios but I still see two drives. Is there anyway I could see my raid as 1 drive in windows? My bios is set to IDE ( cannot boot in raid mode since I am using a new, single hdd)

Have you used reconstructor before?

so I guess I have two options.

First is to figure how to use raid reconstruction.

or

View my Raid0 in Windows 7 as 1 drive so I could use R-studio or other data recovery software...
