First things first, my computer set up. Just the basics you'll need to know.

Mobo with 2 pci-e x16 slots
750w corsair
one of the pci slots i have a ati radeon 5770 for my LG 21.5" monitor (used for gaming)
and the other pci slot i have a radeon 7570 for a normal emachine 1600x900 monitor

Note: the gfx cards are not xfired

What I want:
-Triple screen set up
( Middle one would be used for gaming and side ones only for video viewing and other tasks) (rarely used for games to extend monitor)
-TV hooked up with computer to watch stuff.

I have a $250 budget.
My priorities are to get my tv working with my set up first, not the triple screen.

Will getting a vga y splitter cable and hooking a tv onto that work?
Will 1gb of a 5770 be able to support a tv and a 21" monitor?
Help would be great, thanks.

Wait, uhm...

You have a $250 budget to try to game on three monitors? You won't even be able to buy three monitors for $250.
(And if you have them, you'd need to spend at least $400 on graphics to game on them, if they're 1080p monitors.)

As for the TV, the easiest way to connect it would be through an HDMI cable, if either of your cards have that as an option. If you aren't gaming on it, then the 5770 should be fine for those tasks.

Triple monitor setup for windows productivity and gaming on three monitors are totally different things. I'm not entirely sure what you're trying to achieve. If its just the former, you can do that just from your 5770.
For gaming you really need screens with the same size & resolution. As Darksable says, you'd also need one (or two) much better GPUs. Either abandon 3 screen gaming or adjust your budget for the screens & GPU you need.

I wont really need a triple monitor for gaming, Dark Sable I have 2 monitors already. I just wanted some advice whether i should buy a better graphics card and a used tv or monitor somewhere, When I used the hdmi cable for my other monitor (before I had the 7570) the external monitor wasn't able to use the max resolution. so I'm just wondering if it can support a bigger tv?
If i HAD to buy a better gfx card, then I'd use more money, but with $250 now what would you suggest buying first.

and say if I was to put netflix onto the tv screen using the hdmi on the 5770
I will be gaming with this same gfx card as well. Will it work fine? or will it take up video ram.
I'm using the 7570 for the external so that's out of question.

Assuming it's got the necessary outputs, a single 5770 should support 3 1080p screens just fine. 1 would need an active displayport adapter (or a displayport monitor), but the adapters aren't too expensive anymore.
If you're happy with the performance of your GPU, just get the tv, you've got the hardware to run 3 screens. You can always upgrade your GPU later if you want to.

You can game on one screen with content up on the other, no problem. It doesn't affect performance. I assume you're not talking Netflix and a game at the same time? I'm not sure about that one.
