Hello,
I recently bought an ASrock 970 extreme 4. I did not do a clean install of windows 7 instead windows booted from my HD fine.

My LAN connection is not steady though. I am able to connect to the internet, but I am unable to download or stream for more then a few minutes before the download drops down to 0kbs and won't resume unless I reopen the download. I am able to disable LAN and use my wireless card to get full speeds without constant halts in downloading.

When in a video game my ping is steady and does not fluctuate.

I am unable to get a constant speed from speedtest using LAN. When I disable LAN and use my wireless card I can get my max download speed of 5.70mbs.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the LAN drivers from ASrocks website.
LAN is also enabled in BIOS.

Do you guys have any suggestions as how to fix this? Or any way to test if the board has a bad Ethernet port?

Old drivers and alike might still be on your HDD which might cause some issues.

You should always start by downloading the driver that comes with your MOBO, because these drivers will work with your MOBO with 100% chance.

The best way to solve this is to do a clean reinstall, as it's most likely software related as said before.

Anyway to delete all the old drivers without doing a clean install? Also is there a way to test the Ethernet port before I commit to a clean install?
