Hello, I am looking to upgrade my video card so that I am able to play some of the newer games that my friends have been talking about.
I currently have PNY Verto GeForce FX 5950 Ultra 256 MB. The stock clocks are 475MHz core clock and 950MHz memory clock. However, a year ago my friend came over and managed to overclock them to 600MHz core clock and 1GHz memory clock. There was a slight increase in performance, and I got Half Life 2 running at around 25 FPS on low settings and no AA with 1440x 900 resolution. Before it was around 22 FPS.
My system specs are in my signature below, and I am wondering what card I could upgrade to so that I can play some of the newer games. I fear that if I buy Crysis 3 I'd be playing it at 5 FPS or less :/
I don't think I want to upgrade anything other than my GPU, because my current system is still reliable and I am very loyal to it. So any GPU suggestion that won't bottle-neck my system would be much appreciated.
