Ok i bought a brand new power supply and when i plugged in the power supply. It makes this weird noise like if the fan is slightly scrapping plastic. It's kinda loud to i looked at fan while it was running but it doesn't look like it's hitting anything.

Problem is, even if we had any idea the problem, the fix would likely require disassembling the fan and probably voiding the warranty.

Depends.
If you handy you can try and fix it..but then you run the chance of not fixing it and voiding the warranty. Only you can decide what to do. There is probably very little anyone here can tell you based on the limited amount of information you gave. All we know is you have a component that is making funny noise and you think it might be the fan.

what brand? If its a particular model, we can check for you if there are any other people with the issue and whether its a probable fault -- no point sending it back and getting back a new one when the entire series is affected by a fatal fault.
