Just installed Windows 8 for the first time on my new Intel NUC and all ok so far apart from an issue I have with drive letters.

I have a Century 4 drive USB enclosure which houses 4 Hard Drives and Windows 8 detects the drives fine but will not assign them a drive letter. They are also detected in Bios ok.

Have gone into Computer Management to try and assign the letter myself but when I right click on a drive all options are greyed out apart from delete volume

Anyone got any ideas what may be wrong, the drives are recognized fine on other systems.

The drives house all my media files as I am intending to use the NUC for XBMC.

Thanks for any advice!

go to computer management - click on storage and change hardrive.

or u can just go on computer - right click on the hardrives and change them.

if that dosent work.

my computer- right click- quick format- change drive letter and format it .

Thanks but as I mentioned going into Computer Management only gives me the option to delete volume and nothing else as its all greyed out!

I dont want to format the drives as they work fine and contain all my media.

Could it be a driver issue with my DAS USB enclosure maybe?
