I read that haswell has a problem with the usb 3.0 bug and im worried cos im intending to upgrade my 870 this june. I've heard that Intel will fix the bug through the C1 setting but there's some reports saying that it will only be applied to C2.

Is the bug serious for those intending to buy the C1 version? What does the bug actually do?

According to the latest news in my second link, current motherboards have the issue but that it only affects certain Superspeed thumb drives. Really not a big deal and also uncertain if a BIOS update can address this.

It shouldn't take too long for that stock to disappear. My advice is get a comprehensive review of any motherboard you intend to purchase.

Thanks for clarifying!

If i do buy the C1 stepping though, will there a way to fix the usb 3.0 problem apart from those who bought the C2 stepping?

I'm not completely sure on this issue as I can't find reliable information.

Basically, don't buy a Haswell motherboard until you can verify that:
a) there's a complete fix, or
b) the motherboard you purchase is NOT affected
