my system usb's very slow

hiii. my system usb's are very slow. data transfer rate is 1.0mbps max. I have inserted diferent pendrives in different slots(both front and back), but no use. when I insert pendrive a message appears at the bottom like "this usb can perform faster". can anybody sole this problem

What USB slots are you using? Not all USB slots are USB 3.0 (also, not all USB drives are either)

That message that you are describing sounds like its telling you that if you use a USB 3 slot; they are the ones on the back of your PC and are usually blue in color) if would run faster

What motherboard are you using? If its an older one with USB 1.0/.1 slots, those speeds sound about right

here is the details:
USB 2.0
processor: Intel pentium E5400 dual core @ 2.7GHz
mother Board: Biostar Group, model no: G31D-M7
ram: DDR2 1Gb, 399.5Mhz
And one more thing previousely it is working fine i.e working at 15 to 17 Mbps but suddenly this problem occurs.
I have changed my OS but the problem is still there.
And Iam using Windows7 ultimate 64 bit operating system
