Is there an ISO floating around somewhere or can it be ordered? It would save us a lot of time and bandwidth if we had local copies. If doesn't exist I might as well make one myself.

Honestly I've been looking for something like this before.

I couldn't find anything, so I had to download it all myself.

If you control the network environment for the systems, WSUS is certainly the way to go. If you do not or altering the local policy is not an option, a solution may be to just download the ISO image files for Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP2, and Windows 7 SP1. They are available from the Microsoft Download Center here:

Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1
The .iso DVD image is the first download in the list.
Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 Service Pack 2
Windows XP Service Pack 3

Alternatively, you could also host the standalone installers on a file share and access them over the network.

If you are looking to implement WSUS, check out the WSUS page on TechNet on which you will find a Step by Step guide for getting started. Also check out the Springboard Series on TechNet on which you will find the latest tools, technology, and information on the deployment, support, and administration of the Windows Client.
