Suggest A Good FPS

I am looking for a good first person shooter game. I want it for SINGLE PLAYER ONLY as the internet connectivity is horrible in my place. I would like a modern military shooter like battlefield 3 but i came to know that bf3 has a Very bad single player.So please suggest.Also,if i want to choose between battlefield 3 and battlefield bad company 2 for single player,what would you recommend? Thanks in advance.

I actually like the overall feel of BF3 better. At first it seemed different, but the times I go back to BFBC2, the feel of BFBC2 seems clunky in comparison. It's something to do with how the controls respond and the inertia on your movement, etc... I would say get BF3.

Most of the FPSs these days have turned their focus toward multi-player. BF3 isn't a bad single player game so much as it is pretty short. I liked BFBC2 as well. Both were fun while they lasted.

Fallout 3 (sold with all the expansions) is another that comes to mind that combines elements of an FPS with those of an RPG. I really enjoyed playing it, but it can be short if you don't do all the side missions. The graphics aren't the greatest, but it's one of the best games I've played over the years.

Metro 2033 is pretty good as well.

Crysis 3 (I haven't finished it as of yet) is pretty engaging and a bit different.
